Our Story

To empower the poorest of the poor around the world so they can become agents of change within their communities.

The roots of Environmental and Health Care Initiative can be traced back to the vision and heart of our dynamic founder, Hon. Favour Semilore Tomomewo from a humble start while in nursing school, God has blessed her journey to serve those vulnerable women, orphans, street girls, drop-out, the aged crippled by poverty.

What began in the bedroom of her home, grew into a leading-edge internationally recognized Charity and community development organization, recognized by partners and governments alike as a successful service model for those in need. For more than 10 years, Hon Tomomewo entered into war-torn communities and abandoned communities. She looked at the isolation and hopelessness and saw how she could bring glimmers of light through opportunity, dignity, and hope.

Today, EDHI continues its mission as a voice for the voiceless, an opportunity for the oppressed, vulnerable and water for those who thirst. EDHI helps provide the dignity that comes from an educated mind, a healthy body, an honest day’s wage and a safe place to heal. EDHI is the one who comes alongside those engrossed by poverty to offer a hand up instead of a handout.

Our corporate office is situated at No. 3 Akinwunmi Street, Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria.
