WHAT WE DO

We are committed to touching lives of people in the society through our various projects.

BE PART OF HER FUTURE:

According to the 2015 UN Millennium Development Goals report, women and girls have access to more education, economic opportunities, and political power than ever before in human history. Despite monumental leaps in gender equality in the past two decades, women and girls are still disproportionately affected by extreme poverty. EDHI believes in empowering the girl child giving them a sense of hope that they can achieve their goals and this will help in making the world a safer, healthier, and fairer place. We create awareness on sexual assault, rape, mutilation and domestic violence.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT AND VULNERABILITY SUPPORT:

On 2nd July, 2010 the United Nations general assembly unanimously adopted the creation of United Nations women to cater for the need of women all over the world with the aim of empowering women economically, ending violence against women among others. In line with the United Nations policy on women, EDHI belief financial security, access to information, and job opportunities are the foundation of sustainable economic gender equality. EDHI create an effective community empowerment and vulnerability support in helping the world’s poor break the cycle of poverty.

EDHI belief empowering women is critical in lifting the most vulnerable communities out of poverty. Women need support to overcome discrimination, barriers to employment and savings, lack of access to supplies and training, and cultural assumptions that perpetuate inequality. We offer support for widows and aged. We provide suitable technical and financial support and effective partnership with women organizations. Empowering women is critical in lifting the most vulnerable communities out of poverty.

FREE HEALTH CARE INITIATIVES:

Billions of people worldwide are at risk of contracting a life-threatening endemic disease because they don’t have access to health services — or are simply unaware of safe health practices. EDHI offers free health care services (health education, medical checkups, treatment of minor ailments, referral services and following ups) in order to save lives. We belief in building healthy minds for healthy society.

There are 214 million women and girls in the developing world who want contraception, but can’t access or afford it. That means 43% of pregnancies in those regions are unintended. We offered training for over 100 girls on the reuse of sanitary pads.
